I was actually using a technical pencil with I believe an HB lead (canadian standard) I think it's the same as a US #2 pencil.
Later I colored in photoshp.
I also really like to use the good old fashion ball point pen and have learned how to work it so I can get varying shades of darkness. I need to upload some of my pen scratch sketches.
